Below are a selection of those pictures that I took during the day

This annual event organised by Tuffnell Glass and Totally Beads is held at Towcester racecourse in the Midlands. It’s a great opportunity to meet like minded people, have a curry, and a darn good time… roll on next year!

If you would like to use any of the pictures please ask first.

I have just found something while having browse about, and thought it was worthy of my first blog post in a long time.

Have you every tried in vain to find a photo that matches your new layout theme… or just needed to find a picture in a particular colour?

Well now you can with Yotophoto

Yotophoto is the first internet search engine for finding free-to-use photographs and images.

To use the colour search just type in a hex colour value into the advanced search page and voilà…

So for example, to match the colour of my company’s logo… a delightful shade of orange, I can search for #FF6600

I can think of some really good uses for this, plus the images are all royalty free…even better.

After a mad day getting up far earlier than should be legally allowed (7:00) to go to one of Sarah’s Jewellery fairs, we also decided to go visit IKEA to get some bits for Sarah and try to sort out and organise our living room. While trying to find our way around the new layout at Croydon’s IKEA, I spotted a rather useful opaque white plastic storage box that will (I hope) be perfect as a light tent for photographing jewellery and beads without all those annoying reflections, and for much less than a light tent.
If it works I may well post the results here and let you know how it worked out.
Getting the right set-up for taking pictures of beads and jewellery is very difficult; we have spent countless hours taking photographs, only to come out with one or two useable ones… (Personally I think Sarah is a bit picky, but hey it’s her stuff so therefore her prerogative I suppose!)
So anyway, these ones are NOT made out of ticky tacky.. but they do all look the same !

We have spent the best part of two days (well many hours at least) OK… it felt like several days, taking a whole load of new pictures for www.silverlemon.co.uk.
I have also started designing the new layout that will be fully CSS and HTML strict compliant, I have tried to – as much as possible anyway – separate the content from the design. (although this is not completely possible – see article on alistapart.com).

Although far from perfect it should allow me to change the layout and overall design without having to faff about with the raw HTML !!

Well that’s the theory anyway… as for the proof, we’ll just have to wait and see… with any luck the new design should be up in the next few days.
